John C. Hayes, IV was born in Columbia, South Carolina on December 31, 1970. John graduated from the University of South Carolina (B.S. 1996) and the South Carolina School of Law (J.D. 2001). While in law school, John was an elected representative to the Student Bar Association and a member of the American Bar Association Real Property, Probate and Trust Law journal. He was a law clerk for the Honorable Judge R. Markley Dennis, Jr. South Carolina Circuit Court, At-large, Seat No. 2. Prior to forming Hayes Law Firm, LLC, John was with the firm of Young Clement Rivers, LLP. John is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. John is a member of the American Bar Association, the South Carolina Bar Association and the Charleston County Bar Association. John serves on the board of Schools Out!, a non-profit organization committed to ensuring that all students in our high-poverty communities are provided with structured, positive after-school programs. John has extensive experience in civil trial practice. His primary areas of practice include Construction Law, Admiralty, Trucking, Business Litigation, Environmental and Real Estate Litigation, and advising clients in Construction and Development.
