John Hayes has always had a passion for the law. Growing up in Rock Hill, South Carolina, Hayes’ father served as the chief administrative judge for South Carolina’s 16th Judicial Circuit, and his mother served as U.S. Ambassador to WTO in Geneva, Switzerland. His parents’ dedication to the law encouraged John to start his own practice to provide a voice for his clients.
Settlement was achieved for a nonprofit organization, providing affordable housing for low-income and disabled seniors. At a considerable cost to the organization over 120 senior citizens were forced to move due to the mold infestation caused by the improper installation of the HVAC systems, brick, and windows and other construction defects.
Even with sufficient documentation, an insurer refused to pay a South Carolina homeowner’s claim for toxic mold. After an extended dispute, the mold spread even further, resulting in the eventual demolition of the home. Hayes Law fought the insurance company and received significant compensation for the homeowner.
